first_imgTetra Pak delivers half a billion Tetra Rex Bio-Based cartonsPosted By: News Deskon: February 22, 2018In: Business, Environment, Industries, Packaging, Social Responsibility, Social responsibilityPrintEmailTetra Pak has announced that it has reached a new sustainability milestone, as the brand has now delivered half a billion of its renewable Tetra Rex Bio-Based cartons.Tetra Rex Bio-based cartons were first introduced in October 2014, and are the world’s first beverage cartons to be made completely from renewable materials.Each carton is manufactured from Forest Sustainability Council certified paperboard combined with plastics derived from sugar cane.Tetra Pak announced the milestone at the opening of a new sustainability display at the Museum of Brands in London, which is open to the public from today.Christina Chester, product director at Tetra Pak said: “We are delighted to see the growing popularity of Tetra Rex Bio-based among customers.“Packages made entirely from renewable materials are not only good for the planet, but also good for brands that seek to differentiate themselves with stronger environmental messages.“With everything traceable to its plant origin, consumers are assured that the package they hold in their hands is derived entirely from plants.”Chris Griffin, CEO, Museum of Brands added: “It is good to hear about the significant progress Tetra Pak is making in terms of delivering fully-renewable packages.“They are offering brands more sustainable packaging at a time when environment is top-of-mind among consumers, and people want to make more environmentally sound choices.”Share with your network: Tags: packagingrenewable packagingsustainabilityTetra Paklast_img
