Kevin Durant likes IG post calling out Warriors’ ‘incompetence’

first_imgKD throws shade at Warriors on his way out. Check out who ‘liked’ the post.— The Sports Daily (@SportsDailyBlog) July 1, 2019MORE: Nets offer KD chance to write his own history Durant, who was recovering from a calf injury for the first four games of the NBA Finals, finally took to the court in Game 5 against Toronto, only to rupture his Achilles with 9:46 left in the second quarter. The injury and subsequent surgery will cost Durant the entirety of the 2019-20 season. That, of course, raised questions — unfair or not — as to whether Durant should have played at all, and whether the team’s decision-makers really had his best interests at heart.Of course, it’s entirely possible Durant simply liked the post because it called him the best player in the world when healthy, or that he could now afford a new hairbrush or decent barber. But if he did indeed like it for the point calling out the Warriors’ “incompetence,” then it at least partly explains his decision to move on from Golden State, where he stood to make $221 million over five seasons on a championship-caliber team.As it stands now, Durant’s injury was not a significant-enough hurdle to keep him from agreeing to a $164 million deal over four years with Brooklyn and using the 2019-20 season to rehab his Achilles. It seems Kevin Durant may have some hard feelings left over from his stint in Golden State — specifically, the team’s decision to play him in the NBA Finals against Toronto.Durant on Sunday appeared to “like” an Instagram post from Barstool Sports, which claimed he would miss the 2019-20 season “due to Warriors incompetence.”last_img
